DAVID MOLYNEUX

Born Manchester, England

In 2000 whilst I was working as an Engineer in China I developed an interest in writing and creative pursuits.  When I came back to England in 2001 I embarked on developing a skill in writing for the screen.  After working in many areas of the world as an Engineer I used my experience to develop unique characters and situations.  Added to this was my experience in developing and running a café bar in the heart of Soho, London.  In 2003 I won a TAPS scholarship to write and develop a short film to be later shown to a select group of Producers and Directors at BAFTA in Piccadilly, London.

Under the guidance of Erinma Ochnu, a Manchester based Producer, I went on to write, produce, and direct my first short film for the UK Film Council.
I subsequently worked on a number of short films as 1st Assistant Director, lighting, sound, and continuity, whilst continuing my studies in filmmaking at the City University in London.

In 2005 until 2008 I worked with Writer/Director Jonathan Sagall on his 3rd feature film, Lipstikka, due to be released later this year.  This fascinating story of the human condition led me to the desire help businesses use narrative film to assist them build a stronger relationship with their customers.  On its release I will be credited as Associate Producer for assisting him in Script Development, Pitching and Pre-Production.

In 2009 I formed Agate Road Pictures to produce films for businesses using the very powerful medium of the human condition to engage with the viewer or customer.  The power of story goes all the way back to Aristotle, so this is nothing new, but in this wonderful age of technology sometimes it is all to easy to forget that human relationships are the essence of good business.  Our films engage to create the seed of a relationship.

ROWLAND ENO

Born Uyo, Nigeria

I graduated with a B.A. Honours degree in French with African & Caribbean Studies from the University of Kent at Canterbury in 1981.  From there, I went on to study for a PGCE (Post-graduate Certificate in Education) at Goldsmiths’ College (University of London).  I gained this teaching qualification in 1983 and taught Modern Languages (French and English) for 7 years.  In 1990, I moved into education management and became a senior manager and teacher trainer for Berkshire Education Department.  During this time, I developed a keen interest in I.T. This led, subsequently, to my setting up my own I.T. consultancy company and I left education in 1998 to pursue a full-time career in the I.T. business. I also gained an M.A. degree in Education from the Institute of Education (University of London) in 1995, which gave me some interesting insights into the human learning process and especially the mechanics of language acquisition and communication.

Throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s, I was heavily involved in the performing and teaching of traditional African drumming and dancing to adults and children.  I worked with several groups and later became one of the founding members of Adzido Pan-African Dance Ensemble, a leading professional drumming and dance group that performed dances from across the African continent and took me all over the world.

In 2000, I joined UNICEF and spent 2 years with them as the Education Team Manager, disseminating UNICEF’s work across the UK and in various other parts of the world.

In 2003, I returned to West Africa to live and work.  I moved my I.T. business to Sierra Leone where it ran for about 5 years.  Since my return to the UK, I have been working in graphic arts and media.

I met David Molyneux in 2009 and he introduced me to the exciting ideas he had formulated for Agate Road Pictures. In working with him and the film company, I feel that I am combining my ‘first love,’ the realm of the creative arts, with cutting edge techniques for building on tried and tested processes for improving the human experience.
